Project Facilitation

David grew up across the Southeast United States- from Kentucky, to Texas, to Georgia. He started making at a young age from basic carpentry to electronics and lutherie, falling in love with the story of production. Working in several industries beforehand, He attended architecture school at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He began his design career working with several world-class artists -Volkan Alkanoglu and Amy Landesberg- producing prestige art projects for various institutions and municipalities across the United States. He designed pieces ranging from sculpture to shade pavilions all produced with innovative and sustainable production techniques and led installation teams using intensive coordination of procedures.

He was a founding member and lead designer/installations coordinator for the Pillyr Foundation - a non-profit based in Atlanta working in public space amenities. He also serves on the board of MASS Collective - a makerspace focused on accessibility, inclusivity & educational opportunities.

He founded Referent Studio in 2021 with the intent of expanding his work producing designs for public spaces to more places around the country and the world. He has designed spaces and works for public buildings and spaces, as well as continuing his interest in non-profit/charitable work for various organizations within the community.
