A two-part installation, the work at Fred Martin Welding consists of an asphalt mural telling the history of the shop since 1938 in their own words as well as an outdoor gathering space. The gathering space consists of a shading wall with figures of welders working - acting as symbolic signage for the shop where text signage is not allowed- and a seating area made of sassafras - a native outdoor stable wood.
